Applying To A Doctoral

Program

7 Day Challenge

I was a middle school teacher for 10 years when I realized I needed something new.

Burned out from teaching and frustrated by the inequities I saw I knew it was time to be a learner.

It was time to apply to grad school.

As a 1st Gen college student, I would be the first in my family to earn an advanced degree.

I was not sure what it meant to apply to grad school. To be completely honest, I had never heard of a Ph.D.

It was a summer fellowship held on a university campus that sparked my interest in graduate school. That summer was a set of unintentional circumstances which helped successfully apply to grad school.

Now I am Dr. Lanette :-)

I am elated.
